The problem is there is no specific koni shock for our cars. They never gained popularity enough to generate enough of a market for Koni to make one. Sad to say it is a mix and match thing all you can do is just keep trying till you find one that matches, hate to say it if you have your heart set on koni's for the rear it might just be easier to buy some mustang ones and relocate the shock brackets to where you need them, and if you do that you can put an actual brace in there too.
x1 yeah if you really want koni then find some good ones that have the same extended length and compressed length as the maverick would. then modify you shock brackets to fit the shocks.
i would go with the KYB they will handle better i think. i didn't know KYB made shocks for our cars. i got some for a 85 Nissan 720 for my car.
my dad put monroe's on the back of his mustang they only lasted 6-7 months. but we do live on a dirt washboard road.
