    An unlit propane torch will locate a vacuum leak fairly safely. Water works just as well and it doesn't burn. I like to use a squirt bottle with ATF (the only thing that dexronIII is good for in my opinion.) it will idle down and smoke white smoke with big leaks.

    ATF in a squirt can and use small amounts around the base and shaft. also put your hand over the carb so ever lightly so you dont stall the eng. and if the eng. idles faster theres a vacum leak
