Yes, Tom, it was "Crazy Alice", although she often referred to it simply as "Alice". Your obscession with "chains" is beginning to scare me. By the way, looking through a JEGS catalog today, I noticed that they sell chain steering wheels. That blew me away. I thought those went out of fashion 15 years ago...
The 1977 is the Pumpkin or Sarah's Car. 1976 is the Red Parts Car. 1973 is the Two-Tone 1973 Grabber is not named, thinking Frank's Folley Part II. 1970 is the Drag Car 1970 is the Drag Parts Car.
My friends named my car "The Magic" The reason for this is because everywhere I go with my Maverick, it draws interest from people and good conversation. These same friends created my nick name "GrabberJoe" in 1974. I still see most of the same friends and I still have a '74 Maverick Grabber. 31 years of "Magic"
Actually, it was called the Black Car or Hood (because it had that green hood on a black car). I only started calling it Scrap after you began to work on it.
Right now I'm shopping for a Maverick (but found one in Oklahoma!) so I'll have to work on a name for it. The '98 Mustang in the driveway is "BabyDoll". My 16 year old son's Fairmont Futura is "Butch". I guess he thought since he had a four valve 4.6 with a Kenne Bell supercharger it should have a tough name! Now for this new project Maverick.......ya'll have to help me here. What would you name a Maverick with a 305" (big bore 4.6 modmotor) four valve engine/G-Force five speed/ladder bars/28x10.5 slicks that should weigh 2700 lbs????? Besides "Fast".
