I have you all beat except the opposite way.
My 72 which I got from the original school teacher owner has been in my yard a couple of months now BUT the signed/notarized title is still on my fridge waiting for me to take it to the DMV and get transfered to my name. So I have owned mine the least amount of time. lol That count for anything?

I bought my 1971 V8 Comet in 1985 when I was 15 years old. It was my first car. I got it from my dads friend for $1100 who only had it for 8 months. It only had 50,000 miles on it and was in great shape when I bought it.

I love reading all this, who has what and how long. So far Greengrabber you seem to be the winner for the longest time owning a Maverick/ Comet at 38 years. Wow that is great and something to be proud of. :thumbs2: Just the thought of ordering a Maverick or Comet just the way you want it, the wait would kill me!!!!!!:tiphat:

I remember one of the Roundups in New Castle, either the 2002 or 2003, when we had 5 original owners in attendance with their cars. It was pretty cool.

Anyone on this board own a Drag-n-Fly that they ordered new, so that would mean that they saw their Maverick looking like a Maverick then ordering the Drag-n Fly kit after. Then later getting their car from the dealership dressed up as a Drag-n-Fly. If there is anyone out there do you have any pictures of it brand new as a plain Maverick then another picture of it as a brand new Drag-n-Fly. If you have these please post them. I would love to see them.
