THIS Comet is listed as a 73 and it has the small bumper up front. Mine is also a 73 but has the enormous bumper. Now my build date is 10/72 so it is an early 73. This Comet also has the Comet script on the front quarters instead of the sail panel like mine. Both have under dash shelfs but I heard that 73 was the crossover year toward gloveboxes. Was there any consistency or quality control at Ford in the 70s at all? I mean it would seem that they both should appear virtually the same. Granted mine has a higher trim package. I have actual handles on my doors instead of the little armrests.
Either they have the year wrong or someone switched bumpers. Judging by the door panels, I'd say they have the wrong year. Email them for the VIN #.
I agree with Mavaholic ... 71/72 bumpers and 71/72 interior ... it's a 71/72 ... or somebody did a lot of swapping parts ..
