Hey guys, so my Maverick when I first got it had no stereo but I figured out that it was wired incorrectly so does anyone have the wiring diagram for the 70's mavericks oh and the deck is a cassette on a factory and the speakers are pioneer speakers
You don't need a factory wiring diagram for an aftermarket radio. That radio will need it's own harness and the only thing you need is a keyed positive feed to power the radio unit and a constant positive feed to power the clock/memory if your radio has that.
Response to Craig We'll right now as it stands I have just a cassette player interest and when it was originally done from what I know of the entire system was wired straight to the battery or where ever it was to drain the crap out of the batter so I also just want to rewire that and get it going that way I have a stereo and all so that's also another reason why I was asking for a wiring diagram lol
All you need is a test light. Find a power source that is turned off and on with the key. If you can find the original radio power feed, that would work. Wiring diagrams are here: http://www.maverickcomet.com/Wiring/Maverick.asp
No I get that I just need a stereo wiring diagram because I want to rewire it and get it working again because it was wired incorrectly in the first place so I just want to rewire it
This is the basics for radio's - same as Mavericks. Memory (+12v Constant) - Yellow Memory (+12v Switched) - Red Ground (-) - Black Amplifier Turn-on - Blue Speakers Right Front (+) Gray Right Front (-) Gray/Black Left Front (+) White Left Front (-) White/Black Right Rear (+) Violet Right Rear (-) Violet/Black Left Rear (+) Green Left Rear (-) Green/Black You mainly need to match up the yellow/red/black/blue You can also take a AA battery and take the + end of the wire, and the - end of the wire and put it on the -/+ sides of the battery. It will make the speakers kinda scratch, indicating which wire goes to which speaker. You match that up to the wire that is coming to the radio. Radios mostly have a sticker indiciating which color wire is for which speaker etc so you can match them up properly. Good luck! -Levi
