Well I finally think I got a Grabber to restore. It was one on ebay, 1971, V8 manual. I just won the auction. Hopefully it is not in too bad of condition. Hopefully not too much rust, but most 30+ year old original cars have rust. Now I just have to figure out how to pay him and pick up the car (hope it goes smoothly). I hope to contribute more to the forum and get lots of help on fixing it up.:)

I tracked that auction...Congrats on what appeas to be a nice resto project...someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think that car with its options ( engine and tranny) had the most limited prodution numbers of any year. Makes it a little more desirable I think.

Was that the 302, 3spd manual on the floor car that I saw on ebay? If memory serves me correct the drivetrain was gone? If it is, I have seen few built like that,, gotta be ultra rare. I want it lol.

    Double Score

Yesterday I had Zero Mavericks...today I now have 2. I just scored another great Maverick. A guy had it in the Orange County local free classifieds. He got it from an elderly gentleman that got sick and gave it to him or something. The guy had no clue what he had. He thought it had a Mustang 289 engine. For only $500 bucks I had to check it out and figured I could at least use it for parts.

Turns out it is a well maintained, original 72 Maverick 302, auto, 2dr with bench seats, green outside and beige inside. Original owner, California car, and original CA plates. Interior is great and exterior had a few dings and some slight front body damage. The car has a little rust under the vinyl top and passenger side rear quarter, but other than that it is amazingly clean, especially under the car. What's best is the engine runs awesome. It has a new exhaust system and drives great. I guess I now have to fix up both cars, but 5 cars is getting to be too much for the wife I think (I can't blame her). Total cars will be 71 Maverick Grabber, 72 Maverick, 98 F150, 97 Escort and 97 Protege.
