I was so convinced that I was the only Maverick lover around, I had a black bucket seat interior in my Sprint and was going to paint the whole car blue. Thanks to the internet, I was saved!!!!!!!!

I'm living in Washougal, Washington, near Portland, Oregon. From New Jersey originally. I have an application to join your club, I just have to get it sent in. Just sold my 74 Comet 302. It was a beauty, hate to see it go, but I can't keep 'em all. Some 17 year old kid bought it and he's in love with it already.

Still looking for my toploader. Got a straight 6 automatic in there now. Suppose I'm gonna need a new drive shaft, think I'm probably gonna hafta cut it down to size, what do you think?

I bought my 1st mav in 1983. My x took the pinto and left town so I started off to work on foot. Got about 1/2 mile down the road when I spoted a primer black 70 Mav with a 3 speed floor shifter for sale in a used car lot for $300. I wasn't sure what it was at first but it had oversized tires and it looked kind of cool. For years I had my heart set on a 64 Falcon Sprint but could never get those kind of bucks together so I figured this is as close as I could get so I bought it and got hooked within the 1st mile on the road. About 2 years later I traded it for a 69 1/2 289 3 speed Mav and the fun soon began. Wild burnouts down at the illegal drag strip on river road. Held my own against most small blocks on saterday nights. Those were the days! The city put a road gate up that closed the park after dark. oh well, still have my Mav but now with a nice little built 302 that I'm going to fire up next saterday for the 1st time, can't wait. Also have a 72 Comet auto 6 that I'm going to modify to a 4 speed 302 street rod sleeper. I don't know why but this stock, no crome, black bench, burnt orange comet has got me excited! It kind of reminds me of my 1st 70 Mav. Later SteveLonie
