i have one of these here in brisbane, its insured with shannons for 20k and i believe its worth every cent mate. this yellow one however looks a little worse for wear in comparison, but without you looking at it in person to check out condition of the body you wont really know.Im a bit surprised noones used one in the touring car masters catorgory yet.Time will tell. good luck in looking mate

I kind of thought the same thing. But......it might be worth that in Australia. That car has to be extemely rare over there. I imagine getting one shipped in would not be cheap.

It's a hard call to compare values in Oz and the US.
I found another for sale in Melbourne, which claims to be one of three or so in Australia. Both these cars aren't far away, i might take a look.

    http://www.justauto.com.au/justcars/search?parent_page=%2Fjustcars%2F&search_type_make=FORD&search_type_model=FORD_MAVERICK&search_details_earliest_year=&search_details_latest_year=&search_details_lowest_price=&search_details_highest_price=&keywords=Keywords&search_category=&search_location_state=

It's in much better condition and probably much better value at 22k, however it has been converted to rh drive. Conversions open a minefield of what ifs, especially to the untrained eye.
    I appreciate evreyone's input, it's really helpful.
Aussie maverick, i couldnt agree more. One of these cars would have to be a weapon in TCM. Maybe the 302 has left any potential competitors a little shy to use one, as nearly all the v8 cars are around 6 litres. Jim Richards looked long and hard to find a suitable Javelin and eventually bought one in Oz. I think suitable refers to price, considering how far the race mods go on these cars.

Yeah but IF one could buy a half dozen or so nice Mav for $4k-$6K a pop, have them shipped for say $4K each, then sell for $15-20K one could make a tidy little profit... Of course as amount imported increases, price will drop so buy 'em back and have them shipped to to another country...

im happy for there to only be half a dozen or so over here. They call Mustangs and Camaros BELLY BUTTON CARS in OZ because everyones got one. Id rather that we keep them in the rare and special catorgory. But you are right and i wouldnt be surprised if more turn up over here now that they are being noticed
