yeh i like the color too, but you would have to see it in person to understand why i dont like it.....it was a poor paint job with many flaws and ive always wanted a black mav, so thats why im contemplating changing it
dude those are not going to fit. unless you like the 4x4 looks and the car is all jacked up in the back. i mean if your into DONK (if you guys on here don't know what DONK is google it) then by all means! but the 10xs gonna stick out, run or just down right look funny. what offset did you get? i'm not telling you that you can't have 20's but if they don't fit and don't look right..... you also have to remember your tire choices are also going to be very slim! btw ever price out a 20 inch tire! it gonna cost more then the rims. personally i think you should return them.. since for one they 10x is going to have issues. you gonna pound alot of money into something just will probably not work. just get a 17 / 18 combo... maverick wheel wells are a bit too small for anything bigger. if the car was tubed and slamed that would be all a differant story. i think your car looks fine the way it is.
Another thing folks don't understand about Mavs, besides the small wheel wells, is the short wheelbase... Tall tires and large diameter rims look almost cartoonish when put on such a short wheelbase. Sure the Chevelle looks cool with 20s in the rear, (if they are even 20s). But the fronts are smaller than the rears on that car, AND that car has a significantly longer wheelbase than the Mav. Both differences conspire to make a more 'rim friendly' car. Just some thoughts. I am with MaverickMan on this one.
I am not sure if I am agreeing with anyone on this but... 245 width tires look VERY wide on a maverick. Short wheelbase, small car, whatever it is, 245 and 255s look pretty big on it. Those are 255/60r15s...on 15X8 rims. I rub on the 255s when I take off hard, so anything wider will likely rub if you don't do some kind of wheel-well massaging or something...
That's where I am coming from! Car looks great BTW! The stance is greatly improved from what you started with. Granny would be proud!
THE only ONE who has to be happy about it is you! No way any two true "Maverick" car owners are going to agree on everything, we wouldn't be "Mavericks" if we did. My is they look great. Personally I would hate to have to buy the rubber bands, I mean tires, to put on them, can't be cheap! Pics when done would be awesome. I like the old school stuff myself, running 15" Cragar S/S's, but could be persuaded to go to 17's just like'em without too much arm twisting, my wallet, and wife, would holler, wife would be louder I am sure! rk
I am running 245/60/15s on 15x8's in the back. I have about 7/16" of an inch clearance on the leaf spring, and that was after relocating the e-brake cable and bracket, I flipped and rotated up so it moved the cable in board and upward. I could easily run 255/60's now. And will change to that when these BFG T/A's wear out. But with as little time on the road that the car sees now, that is going to be a long time, unless I see some time at the track! No way a 10" wide wheel would fit under my Mav without a mini tub and spring relocation, in other words WAY TOO MUCH WORK for me, I will stick with 8 inch wheels. rk
I have 225/75 R15s on Cragars out back with a 4" lift. Looks fine and scrubs not. Looks 100% better than the 14" hubcapped whitewall baldies it had when I was lucky enough to become her new owner. She is a sexy superstar with the Cragar SS's too. Try the big rims and see if they look right that s all I can say.
http://mmb.maverick.to/gallery/showimage.php?i=3602&original=1&c=member&imageuser=2 How big are these? And yes, it is a well documented fact that Cragar SS's can make any car cooler.
