Mine's got leaking reed valves, the replacement plate costs $490. Not gonna do it, I'll let the SRV catch it for now...

installed them and in 4 mins. I had 155 PSI on my system. took a little more time than when it was new, must be the plumbing and the 50' of hose on my new reel...:thumbs2:

What compressor you running? I was unaware that they wore out...

Mine's a Husky 60 gallon 7 hp 220A jobbie. I hope I don't need to look forward to doing any work on it.

Trust me, EVERYTHING electrical/mechanical wears out eventually... Something like a compressor it's mostly by amount of usage...

I worked in a machine shop for years, working my way through college. EVERYTHING wore out and broke. We never paid a mind to the compressor.

So when i got my first house, I installed a BIG compressor. Way bigger than I needed.

I never thought I would ever have to do any maintenance to it. I check the oil level every other year or so, but never needed to add any. I just use it and take it for granted.

I think I paid $600 or $800 for it. If it goes out, I would just replace it with a new one.

I have had this thing for at least 10 years so far...

And the ONLY way to go in my opinion, I worked with guys that repaired the oil less stuff, kept them busy... Piston seals were always giving problems, piston & rods busted regularly as well...

I picked one up from work for $100, hated the noisy thing(open crankcase) so badly I sold it a year later... Never again...
