I obtained a delay wiper switch awhile back and installed it in my car. When I tried using the wipers they only had the "fast" speed, there was no slow, intermittent or fluid. I made sure it had a good ground and even opened the controller to see if there were any broken connections. It seemed to be in perfect shape. I am kinda stumped, any one have any advice or suggestions?
Apparently, my friend had gotten it off of eBay awhile back for a good price and it was "tested". The dealer only has excellent reviews, but no I cannot say I have see it work. The unit it's self is in excellent condition with no sign of obvious trama.
I bought a NOS on from Green Sales. It wouldn't work except for slow speed. I opended it up and one of the terminals was broken. I tried to fix it but could not. $100 thrown away There is a solid state version that Summit lists but they were out of stock when I was putting the dash back together. I looked at the wiring for a '71 and it appeared to me that it would work. http://m.summitracing.com/parts/sdk-d1zz17a553v2 Micah
It's at my friends house I will take a picture the next time I am over there. But as far I know there are no damaged terminals, they looked great inside.
I just looked at the link, that looks to actually be a good option, if I can't fix the other one I will probably go that route. Thanks for the link!
Hi William: If you're unable to get your unit to "work" then another option is an intermittent wiper switch setup from an 80's F-150 Truck , or 80's Bronco. We have these on three cars so far and they work great. Easy install .. Just remove the setup from the donor vehicle (Switch and All ) the Maverick or Comet switch must be replaced . It's a simple plug-in and then a good ground and you're good to go . The "knob" can be replaced easily by just pulling the old one off..and installing the Mav or Comet knob. If you'd like to see them installed .. come on by .. You know where my shop is in Deland .Lemmeno Cometized (Chip)
Hi again William: Here are a few photos of the "intermittent" wiper switch I mentioned earlier . I drove a Comet 4500 miles on a Power Tour last June with this setup and these proved very useful while driving through the mountains with periods of on/and off rain .. Just enough to mess up the windshield . Cometized (Chip)
That is actually the switch that I have. Unfortunately though when I plugged it it, it just didn't seem to work correctly.

The wiring for the 71 and 73 as far as I know are the same when it comes to the wiper system. But I will definitely check on that if I decide to go that route.
So it turns out my switch is from 89, I moved over the one wire just now. But after reading the repair link that is only for washer. Here are some pictures, any ideas?
