With 6.37 backs spacing don't they hit the spring in rear ? Did you have to use a spacer ?

Ok...I am not so great at some of this back spacing etc. But about a year ago my wife bought me a very, very nice set of 2014 mustang GT wheels and tires. They were immaculate and I WAS STOKED!!
I got them home and put one on the front....umm.....the way the were made the entire rim was way too far "inward", almost like if I put them on backwards that they would fit better? That when I noticed that most modern wheels are very "flat" meaning that the center is very close to the outside edge and that any rim that even looked close to that would not work.

These FR500's don't look AS close to the front edge but still looks like to much? Are you guys somehow widening your front end and rear ends? using spacers?

    Yup.

After deciding on tire size and having the tires mounted, I removed the shock and spring from the front, installed the wheel/tire then used washer stacks to determine the size of the spacer I needed to allow the tire to fit and not rub thru its entire range of motion.

So out of curiosity how much of a spacer did you end up using?

Well. I have the 18X9 30mm offset version for the front. I have a 1" spacer. The front suspension is stock style but not stock. For the rear I have the 18X10 with 22mm offset. Im using a 1.625 spacer. I do not have leaf springs so I do not know if this would work for you. I do not know how these measurements would translate to anyone elses car. My fenders have been clearanced so I run a wider stance than most. Therefore... measure, measure, measure....

I have 1/2" of spacer in the front, you have to run ARP studs though, and I think it was 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" in the rear and I have stock front suspension with 13 cobra brakes and leaf springs in the back there is probably less than 1/4" clearance between tire and leafs also rolled/pulled rear fender, front could probably go with a little more space IMO. You willl also have to cearance the rear inner wheel house I think there is a thread GrabberGT did on a nice way to do it. I used a BFH

I went with the larger offset front wheel so that I could use a bolt on spacer. They are much safer than sandwich spacers.

Guys, there are different offsets available for these wheels. Please beware and do not just go out and buy these parts and expect them to work as ours have. Measure measure measure... Custom spacers are not cheap but neither is the process of exchanging parts, replacing trashed tires, or worse... the negative effects of broken wheel studs.

Hi! I want to put an 18" wheels to my 74 Maverick, 8" in front and 9.5 or 10" rear and I want to use 245/40 front and 285/35 rear, recently I tried from a Mustang a 255/40 tire and I saw a lot of space, do you think I need to use some backspacing to use a 285 wheel? The person who is trying to sell me the wheels told me that I need a 0-20 offsetis this true? I hope you can help me! Thanks for your time.
