Charcoal Cannister to Nowhere

Hey guys,

I got my charcoal cannister painted all nice and black, but my new air cleaner doesn't have a port to hook it to like my factory air cleaner had. Where else can I run this thing to?

 

On my 250 I ran mine to the base.

 

Yea - that's where I ran mine on my factory air cleaner too. Might just get a different air cleaner base with a port if I need to have it hooked up there

 

Drill a hole in my base and use a dremel to cut the slots for the plastic tabs

 

Not a bad idea.... Don't think it's pulling any vacuum - so when I mess up it will still work! Thanks!

 

The carburetor is pulling air through the air cleaner. The air going across the tube end will create enough low pressure to suck the vapors from the canister hose. Besides the exit hole in the tube is higher than the entry hole so the vapors are coming out of the tube anyway. Some aftermarket air cleaners have a knock-out in the base for emission plumbing.

The idea of it venting to the engine compartment freaks me out alil bit
