Who makes a delete kit for the power steering pump?? Whent to manual rack so need a braket with a pully
I installed a MII kit with manual rack and pinion 302 Engine is set up for V belt with power steering, Power steering is now off as I'm now manual RP Do i just need alternator brackets of a manual car?
There are definitely cheaper routes but this is the kit I used I believe. https://m.summitracing.com/parts/mch-1670
I just went out and looked. You are correct. Doh! If one could find a manual steering car with a V-8, it would have the correct set-up you seek.
Maybe it wasn't routed that way from the factory.. but that's the way I've always done ALL my manual steer cars.. regardless of the make. And I'm not very easy on anything power related.. so I know it can last just fine under most peoples right foot. Eventually my PS setup will be deleted from my car too and this is the way I will go yet again. Some light bracket "massaging" with hammer and/or heat.. possibly a different pulley offset/s.. or at least a few shims and different length spacer here or there.. and a higher quality(I prefer cogged type Goodyear's myself even though that type of belt is known to have less side friction and bit more stretch) AND tighter than average belt torque to help compensate for the longer lengths/added stretch. Even tested it on higher amp alternators combined with high volume water pumps too. Works just fine to 7,000 rpm+.. no squealing.. no front pump seal failures(although I typically use e-fans or lighter weight flex fans which may help in that regard).. rarely needs re-tightening/belt adjustments.
Yea cant find nothing for the v-belts ethier covert to serpentine or get a diffrent braket for the alternater to be lowerd to be alined with the othier pullys to work..just wanted to see what thier to buy on summet racing or any where i can get some thing new that will work
The kit that I posted is exactly that it ties the alt, water pump and lower pulley all together. They are also extremely light!
Sorry didn't have time earlier to dig for this in my stash of links spread all over 4 different computers and about 30 hard drives(no exaggeration there either! lol).. but here you go. Also read the description below to paint a clearer picture about the bracket differences that may be involved. http://www.cvfracing.com/Ford-Small-Block-Kit-4-Bolt-Crank-CVF-Bracket-p/sbfl1kit-cvf.htm And here's a complete kit. Not sure about the drivers side water pump layout though. Might want to call them and see what issues or see about another kit number for the passenger side inlet setup. http://www.cvfracing.com/Ford-302-V-Belt-Pulley-System-Alternator-Only-p/302-alt-system.htm EDIT: a bit slow on the uptake here.. looks like the "add water pump" option suggests that this allows either inlet location. Worth a phone call.
