The white definitely helps, and also throw some LEDs in there and it is super bright.

Any gloss white paint will work.

 

FLAT white paint does a great job also ! We've done several at the improvement is noticable .

I'm scratching my head at just what kind of kludge you have, dash lamp fuse is supposed to be 4 amp, larger amperage fuses won't fit in it's place... Headlight protection is circuit breaker inside switch...

 

i was just going by the fuse i originally found i my car when i bought it, but everything is how it should be now
