Hello everyone I was looking at some 15x8 205/65/15 wheels and tires with either 4, 4.5 or 4.75 inch back spacing and I wanted to know if i would be able to fit 15x 8s up front with 205/65/15. It's a 73 ford maverick. Thanks in advance
One other point, the maximum back spacing is either 4.25" or 4.50" depending on your particular vehicle's wheel well dimensions.
Missed the up front part. I was referring to the difference in distance from the rear tire edge to springs. the inner wheel well and the fender lip. I'm sure you would agree, all of our vehicles were not built the same.
ok so if i wanted to run 7s up front and 8s in the rear 15 inch rims and probably 245 or255/60 in the rear and 225-235-60 in the front. would that work, Im running all stock 73 suspension other than i bought the 800 lb leaf springs from general spring that a lot of people recommend. thanks guys for your help.
I personally have 225X70 14s on the front with 6" wide vintage wheels and a 8X15" wheel and tire combination on the rear. You can find several wheel and tire combinations in the garage section of this website under wheels and tires. Keep in mind, the wider wheels are on tubbed cars.
Okay, ya I've checked out the page your talking about but I didn't know that those bigger tire ones were with tubed cars. So if I wanted to do 15 inch rims. Are you saying that 8 inch in the rear is too big for a stock 73 mav. If so, sounds like I should run 7's in the rear and 6's on the front. What do you guys think? Thanks
nd 255X60 15 The 10" wide wheels are on tubbed cars. A 15X8" wheel on the rear with the correct backspacing is fine. I'm running an 8" rear wheel with 4.25 backspacing. Some owners are running 4.50"
