Has anyone here removed all the chrome off their car?
Been looking but can't find anyone yet. Im thinking of going all black on every chrome piece since Im truly not a fan of anything chrome.
    Bumpers
    Handles
    All window trim
    etc..

I did everything on the outside except the bumpers and hood lip trim. Against my red paint, it looks great.

On the inside, I did the door handles, window cranks, sill plates and visor mounts. The only chrome is the OEM floor shifter.

    Pictures in the Showcase post.

I go back and forth about this on the regular - often when it's too hot to work on it and I'm staring longingly...

Recently Im of the mood for blacked out window chrome, black wipers, black bumpers, chrome door handles and chrome wheels.

There's a really sexy black Mav in the galleries all blacked out - think it was a girl's car if that helps. Wish I saved a link...

Ya I've sat and thought about it my fair share as well.
I think its truly dependent upon the look you want.
the classics always had chrome but the modern muscle look seems to lack it

I'd at least have chrome bumpers and door handles.

So much of my car was blacked out that I think leaving the bumpers and the hood trim left just enough. I'm just not a fan of painted bumpers. On new cars the bumpers are part of the body and painting makes sense. On classic cars, they are not and I like having the chrome to set the bumpers apart from the body. I do like chrome. My Jag is the opposite of the Maverick, it is covered in chrome: http://www.saloondata.com/cars/detail/?car=351885BW

All my blacked out pieces on the Maverick are powder coated. The only things that were painted are the wipers and locks. I suggest using powder coat over paint for durability, especially the door handles.

If I'm not mistaken, the Stallions had a lot of blacked out trim.
