so i decided since i already have a very clean 351w sitting in my 4-door maverick parts car, im just gonna drop it into my 72 grabber instead of a 302. i intend to keep my manual steering and im putting disk brakes (do i need the brake booster for front discs or can i just swap the proportioning valves??). i want headers in my car too with my exhaust exiting before the rear tires. i just have a few questions - do i need the brake booster for front disk brakes - can i just wire the 351 using the 250i6 wiring harness - can anyone recommend headers that dont need any mods to fit - should i install a floor shifter (maybe a quarter stick hurst shifter) any more info on this would be appreciated
Dont use the power brake master with manual brakes...No one makes a header that works on a 351 in a mav without mods. You can use the the 250 harness for your swap. gonna have to stretch a few wires...re-rout a few etc... Put a floor shifter in it...less problems when useing headers You really dont need to change the prop valve when going to frt disk brakes
now with a healthy 351 in a light car such as a maverick with a fresh trans and a good shifter, am i looking at a good set up for a street/strip car
now i see in your description that you have a 351 maverick, do you mind showing me a picture of your engine bay so i can see how its set up?
Shure!!! I did not do this install. If I had...I wouldnt have had to pull it twice to fix/correct issues the original installer didnt seem to care/know about. Last pic is how it looked when I got the car. 2nd pic is the 3 row aluminum rad thats in it now.
dang, that engine sure looks good in a maverick. i cant wait to start my swap. from what i read crites has some 351 mav headers that fit with very little modification
What the neighbors say bout all the smoke? Looks like you've done a few burn-outs on that driveway B4?
Nope...Ya dont but, I use what I have... Hello Everett...Wasn't my driveway...LOL... The 1st pic actually ended up in the car craft magazine burnout section a few yrs back.
