If U have water below the trans, it's coming from somewhere in the cooling system and maybe leaching along somewhere on the cars frame, trans lines or somewhere else, not from the trans.

So then the weird puddle of water right below the transmission might just have been strange account of condensation? Cause my radiator fluid is still green and my transmission fluid is still transparent red / pink.
    Thanks! that is reassuring .

thanks, will try to spot that, cause even if it's good it's NOT in the transmission, it still means I have a small coolant leak somewhere

If the car has AC, and it's been running while you parked it, there wud be water in that area...

Yep....the condensate line is directly above the trans.

    Do you have AC?

Well, that was answered just as I posted.

Yes, I was on a long drive, it was quite hot in SoCal (between 95 and 100°), I have never seen that puddle before or since so I'm perplexed about it. And no AC.

I wud not worry about it too much, since seems to have been a one time event. I wud keep a close eye to see if it happens agn; If so I wud be concerned. Keep a close eye out for leaks anywhere under the car.

I had a problem that plagued me for abt 2 years, w/ a leak coming from the front of my car, a wet spot below the front Xmember/radiator. Kept seeing water on top of the water pump housing -- thought it was therm. housing crack, or loose bolts at housing -- replaced housing. Not the housing or loose bolts. Thought it might one of the heater hoses -- neither. Thought, maybe radiator -- not radiator.
Finally determined to be bolt left out of the water pump near the top of the pump. Just happen to notice it one day while tinkering around and looking for possible causes. I replaced the AC/ OE compressor w/ modern setup and overlooked that one bolt -- funny thing -- it wud leak sometime -- sometime it wouldn't. I installed a bolt -- hasn't leaked since.
I assume, when the cavity got full where the coolant was stored, it leaked onto the ground.
Point being, this kind of stuff happens where you might least expect.

so long as it is not anti-freeze (green), as Everett mentioned, would not worry too much. possible that it could be condensation from exhaust system as it cools down, especially in the mufflers and leaks out of joints. you said it was quite hot around 100 degrees, so once it cools down at night, there might have been enough condensation to build up and leak out the next morning? how big was the puddle?

So I was in the middle of my drive in the middle of the afternoon, I stop at a gas station, time to fill up, buy some snacks and answer nature's call I come back to the car and then I see the small puddle, maybe 5 by 5 inches. I cleaned it with a brown paper towel, I don't seam to remember it being antifreeze color. But it wasn't for sure night time, engine cooling down condensation

weird! maybe gerry rig a mirror on a pole and after your next drive, if there is still a puddle, look up with mirror if you see where water is coming from? since this is the second time, more than likely it will happen again? keep us posted and good luck!
