I have 73 maverick I'm looking to do small bumper conversion. I've read a lot on the forum. Didn't find anything about the notch for the stone guard. I believe the early models have notch . So I'm going to guess I just cut notch in. One other question are the fenders same with .
    Thanks in advance:huh:

The earlier models have fenders that are cut out where the newer ones do not have this cut out section. You will need a stone guard from an earlier model. Then just cut notches in the stone guard. This saves you from having to replace your fenders. Thats how I did it on my Comet.

I converted my 73 Maverick to the small front bumper. I had a stone guard from an earlier model but I just cut the rubber one from the 73 to fit without notching the fenders. Turned out decent.

I notched my fenders for the early stone guard.
I cut it short and folded it to have a factory edge.
