Hello all, I tried a search, but couldn't find any good details. I have a newer fuel inject 5.0, and A/C compressor in my maverick, the previous owner swapped out the airbox/controls for one with A/C. It has the evaporator in there, but nothing else. What do I need to do to make this system work with the newer compressor? I know i need a condenser, lines (do they need to be custom, can i make some stock ones work?), and can i use the current evaporator, or should i try to make a newer foxbody one work with an orifice tube? I know this is a complicated question, but i'm hoping someone has done this before. -Phil
I wud contact one of the AC firms to get a complete hose/fitting kit,, that way, you have all the parts needed to measure and clock the fittings to be crimped. I got my complete underhood setup from Classic Auto Air - all you need is the hose/fitting kit. My setup does not have a trinary switch, (that I am aware of), maybe I wire one in at some point. I wud replace the drier and expansion valve, if you have not done so. I have had gud working relation w/ Classic. I will look for some pic later or take some if I can't find them on the hd.
That is a stock '89 Mustang system with March dress up kit http://marchperformance.com/ford/fo...2-531-windsor/pulleys/serpentine-pulleys.html Micah
Everett, what is that power steering pump setup you have on there? Looks like it may solve my problems.
What issues are you having? I have a Saginaw "GM" style pump. I have a Borgerson steering conversion bought as a kit. I have seen the Saginaw pump used w/ OE Ford steering boxes. You may want to search around for what is involved w/ installing GM pump as far as, brackets and pressure adjustments.
I was looking for something that sits lower and a bit farther out from the fuel pump. Looks like what you have does the trick.
