Electric fan conversion for a l6 250ci

    The radiator I have now is a little thicker than the OE, but was able to fit the fan in w/o any issues.
    The guys running the Taraus fans are more efficient - don't know how easy it is to get one in ur part of the world.
    As I said, I think the setup u have is working ok. The other reason I changed my setup was for safety, don' t like working on the car w/ spinning fan that can cause serious injury or death with fraction second loss of concentration. It is a move I do not regret...

    Because I had to change my old stock radiator for an accident and I can not find another .....I have to buy anothe rradiator and this is different and have more depth....If I want to use the mechanical fan ( in my case I have a FLEXALITE 7 mechanical fan) then I would have to cut the radiator cut support to install the radiator and in this way I would have the space to use my stock Fan 2016-09-09 11.43.59-1.jpg 20161112_155513.jpg

    Find the taurus here is relatively easy....the issue is the space between radiator and water pump pulley...only 3 1/2 "
    I have understood that the taurus fan have 5.5" aprox...

    That's fine, start worrying if it regurarly goes past 230*F...

    It's a replacement. But I did buy it from Frank Cooper who bought it from the box store

    that's a Champion radiator and one of their fans w/shroud...:thumbs2:
    this is what they looked like when I got them. then I had the radiator powder coated and the shroud wrapped.

    For more clearance for a ribbed drive pulley and to fit a better radiator, the '74/250 has the rad' moved forward and slanted towards front. Stock mechanical works fine but a large Perma-Cool is waiting install.

    I have a factory a/c 250 and I have a Champion 3 row aluminum I put in. Didn't change the fan and the car runs cool just as is. Changing the rad for quality and size makes a huge difference in itself. I'd just use the original viscous fan and see how it goes over time. If you find you do need more cooling, then put in the electric one. I guess what I'm in short trying to say is that if it isn't broke, why fix it.
