If one was thinking about swapping out a C4 in a Maverick/Comet for a four speed and could get his hands on a cheap '78 Mercury Monarch with a 302 and 4-speed, would the clutch pedal, linkages, etc work in the Maverick/Comet as they are? The car already has a v8 so this would just be a transmission swap. Just wondering about the clutch linkage.

I am pretty certain it would not be a direct bolt in.

That's what I'm thinking too, just wondered if it would work.

I have a set of Maverick clutch pedals. Email me if I can help.

I'm pretty sure the 4 speed in the Monarch is actually a 3 speed with overdrive.
