Yes AFAIK trucks used 164T but since it was 5-speed makes no difference, he wants to use the orig automatic... I'll guess the block plate for 250 & 302 are same???
Yes block plate/transmission is the same on a 250 and 302. The flywheel is different imbalance on the 6 cyl than it is on the 302. The 164 tooth block plate is different than a 157 tooth block plate because of the starter location is different.
Thanks for the info guys. Sorry about my posts showing twice, my computer wasn't working properly. With the 86 lincoln motor with the aod trans and fuel injection, what would I have to do to mate it to my c4 and also eliminate the fuel injection and run a carb? Thanks again everyone.
Things needed to change form EFI to card manifold carb ,distributor, if your running mechanical fuel pump you will need to change timing cover for mechanical fuel pump , oil pan to front sump, block plate and flex plate for the right size and imbalance ...
Make it easy on yourself. I have a running driving 302/C4 car here I am parting out. Drive 5 hours over and get EVERYTHING you need for the swap in the correct configuration.
And this is not in a pile on a garage floor. We can take the car out and drive around before we pull a thing.
The nice thing about a package deal is you can get all the hard to find V8 specific parts in the deal - belly bar, frame and engine mounts, bell housing, throttle cable, transmission cross member - that stuff isn't always easy to find..........
I agree Acorn, it is the easiest way to go about it. I've been dreading the linkage when that time would come.
