can if you have been pouring gas in the carb and it not starting... wet plug is a sign of a fouled plug (not firing), you may want to start with a new set.
It's possible to get enough fuel wash down past rings the fumes in oil pan ignite(no doubt several times of dumping gas down caarb doesn't help)... One of my uncles had a old Rambler that could pull that trick, would blow the oil filler cap probably 15-20 ft if hood was open... The dipstick was part of cap on that engine, if hood was shut it just banged the underside and settled back in place...
If it ignites and blows the oil pan off, your starting problem won't seem nearly as great... In other words... Change the oil!!
well i toook the head off last night they look like there all closeing tight but i know theres a problem becuse air was comeing out the intake you could feel ./ hear it out of the carb plus it would not get past 40 psi and all the other cly would next thing i saw was one the block and between the head gasket on cly 5 and 6 there was oil around the boilt holes on both sides of the gasket and no rlly incations of a blown head gasket other then oil in places it should not be but also if to cly were lecking in to the oil on combustion stoke that would explane why there gas in my oil and why i had a fire when i put the distoer back in that one time but also 5 and 6 cly had no leck in a comprestion test and or the leck dwn test
okay well new head gasket new spark plugs popints and condens and time gear pulled and re timed head cleaned and all put back together starts up great now idk what fixed it but it runs now it just dont like cold start but i think there a vac leck plus choke does not work right
