Redid the rear brakes. Replaced the leaky water pump.

Got the Taurus fan in, it was hitting the bolts that hold the pulley on so I had to trim it a little on the top and raise it 1/4" fits like a glove now, got the relays and breakers mounted and some of the wiring installed.

Is that with the stock radiator or with a aluminum three core?

Put the right-side fender back on. Starting the long process of re-assembly. I want to get it driving again. It's been too long.

Do you have a picture? I tried doing the same and had interference. Really don't want to cut the water pump snout...

I will get you one. Basically I just slipped the fan shroud up to the top of the tank and took a sharpe and marked were the tank weld is and cut another 1/4" deeper into the shroud so it would slide up farther. Fan blade sit just a little above tank bottom level . I used these images for the original cutting.

Modified the ' pull-handle' on the E-Brake of the 70 Maverick which activates a switch fastened to the pull assembly and installed a small but noticeable blinking Red Warning Light in the dash area if the brake is not released. I have driven for miles sometimes with the brake ON inadvertently . This should STOP that ! We're doing the Comet and my Daughters Maverick next . I'm taking photos step-by-step and I'll post them if anyone else out here is interested. Two of the cars are Stick Transmissions, and Kim's is an automatic. Lemmeno.

Interesting solution for an age related problem. Nice. Are you also one of those guys who drives for a 100 miles with the right blinker on?

Funny you should mention that ... I have a couple of Chevy Pickup Trucks and I have a ' beeper ' ( much like the
back-up beepers on heavy equipment) installed on BOTH of them to AVOID the blinker thing at all costs !! I discovered earlier that I couldn't HEAR the tiny click , or peep of the standard turn signal sound devices ..So I had to improvise ! We frequently make deliveries here in Florida when the distance isn't too great with out own trailers ..and I wouldn't want to risk a problem on the road while pulling them.. When any one in the company drives one of them it always startles them at first when the beeper activates.. I don't seem to have any problem with that when I drive the Cars ! I dislike intensely the blinkers on a car in front of me that NEVER turns .. just keeps on flashing .. I figure they're probably breaking in a NEW bulb .. Even worse are the idiots that turn in front of you WITHOUT a signal and you have to brake quickly to avoid taking them out !! What can I say ?? I live in Florida !

It's not so much an Age Related Problem as you may surmise.. I've always maintained..Its not the YEAR ... It's the MILEAGE !! How bout you ? Are you one of the younger folks that has excellent hearing ? If you are .. you're blessed ! I damaged my hearing when I was a much younger man beating rust out of fire escapes with a ball-peen hammer when I was an Ironworker in Chicago and I dislike wearing an ' aid ' ..

    Chip,
I think I lost a bit working on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier nearly 30 years ago. Wear plugs even mowing the lawn now. Trying to preserve what I have.
