Just installed my new 88300 Heddman long tubes on my 1973 Maverick , 347 , 5 speed , power steering. Once installed , my power steering slave cylinder will not clear the tubes, even with the recommended drop down bracket. I would need to extend the drop down bracket an additional 2 inches to clear the bottom tubes(which I suspect would cause a steering geometry problem). Anyone else have this issue?

You read my mind. In process of changing the water pump to standard rotation , removed the pump and bracket , and ordered the power steering adapter from rare parts today! Should gain 10-12 hp and eliminate a little weight.

If removing P/S gave a 10 HP gain, probably 90% would can it...
