I was at Shelby fest last weekend checking out the parts and cool cars. I saw a flat black Maverick run in the autocross. And saw the rrs suspension and spoke with the guys from Gateway Mustang who use it on almost all their restomods. Has anyone else had any experience with it? Seems a little expensive but I can say it handles well and if you wanted to theirs a lot of possible options for brakes and to even retain more of the cars original structure. And just and fyi the absolutely hate AJE front suspension.
ahh.. looks cool i think im going to stick with something can get parts for at the auto part store. ideally anyways... also seems like that rack would interfere with my headers, not sure. im looking in to sn95 style setup.
Gateway sure builds some beautiful cars with this setup that obviously handle well and it gives you considerably more room underhood. Just seems like no one else sells this setup.
Gateway also looks like a cool setup i like how it just bolts right in, but it seems like a lot of money for what you get, and you still have your factory gearbox issues. Or you can get the rack kit they sell but it mounts in the rear just like the factory suspension making header choices a headache. Thats $3000 just for the McPherson strut and brake setup, then its $2500+ for the power rack setup.
They say the fabricated tube frontend will crack over time and fall apart. On a street car. They say it's fine for race cars.
Simply repeating what I was told. I know some mustang guys with tubular k,members have had issues. But, I honestly don't know anyone that has put thousands of miles on one.
I have several race only parts on my street car. According to where you drive the street can be rough on parts.
