I know of homermavs and I seem to remember someone else, not too long ago that showed up with one. I don't remember who it was.
Mary Kay Cosmetic Co had many special ordered makes and models of cars painted that color back in the day. I have not lately noticed any company cars painted that color though. They were driven by Managers or whatever, and special promotions.
I doubt the MK would be rarest, I'm sure there were a few special order ones and twozies of odd colors(at least to Mav) mfg'd each year... Back in those days, any color that Ford used on any other model could be special ordered for as little as $25... There is a '69 Fairlane Cobra in the registry that's painted a dark charcoal metallic grey, that was a Lincoln/T-Bird color, AFAIK it's one of one... Also were a couple that were Calypso Coral, while that was common on the Cyclones, was special order in the Fairlane & Torinos...
I could not even find a silver listed for 1973. Refresh my memory....was the door data sticker painted over?
I agree. I will have to check the gallery, I don't believe I have seen a maverick in that color before.
In April 1974 I saw a black Grabber with white stripes the car was new. I have never seen another one. I had a red one with black stripes on order. Got it in May.
I currently have a 1972, v8, auto, a/c, p/s, buckets console clock, black full vinyl roof 2 door, 6 digit dso, no paint code. inside trunk, under hood, under rear seat and package tray is pink, sat on dealer lot in California for a year before being sold, was special color for stock according to marti report.
