Well have fun with that. Until you've helped to solve the O.P.'s bogging problem, it's all a bunch of big talk. My bet is that you'll have him chasing a dragon that he never catches.
I've slayed well more than my fair share of Holley dragons. I have the weekend off again due to weather and would willingly help the OP troubleshoot it over the phone. Bogging issues are usually very easily remedied. OP should be warned though.. I am an extreme perfectionist who will likely have him recurving his distributor to get timing dialed in and tuned as it should be. Can't properly dial in fuel curves if the ignition curve is off from its ideal. But after all that hubbub I can gaurantee his engine will run better than it ever has. Easy to talk about what you "think you know" on some forum.. a bit tougher to put your money where your mouth is by offering phone tech support to back it up. I'm kinda curious how many people you've helped fine tune their engines around here, Larry?
Lol.. special division of Holley, Tom. Phone number is unlisted and you need to know the magic words to even get ahold of those magic carbs.
Only 2 or 3. Most of the people I know who run carbs don't have any problems with them. If my help was needed, I would certainly offer it. You have that "bigger is better" mentality, and seem to treat every scenario as if it's a race application. If he needs a #38 pump nozzle and bigger pump cam for his mild 302 (and if it will even be driveable like that), he's got bigger problems going on. It's a 302 with a mild cam and some GT40P heads for crying out loud.
