Sure will. I'll post everything when I get to the office tomorrow and get my file. Booster, bracket, & mc are MBM and inexpensive. Prop valve is a Wilwood adjustable for about $60, very nice piece and has the brake light switch integrated. I ran coated and braided line instead of stainless since it is hidden and stainless is hard to work with. Since your dash is out are you considering running lines on the inside of the firewall instead of in the engine compartment? If so, I'll post those pix as well. What rear brakes are you running?
yeah i can run then inside. i was thinking of doing that. on top of this kit im installing a full cage.
He may need to "check" the hood clearance! I really have to pay attention the these r&p threads though because my dream is to put a Cleveland in my car with huge headers.
Joe, Definitely interested! The (lack of) brakes are one of the main reasons I rarely drive my car. I've converted my manual drum/drum to a manual disc/drum with a 15/16" Granada M/C and it stops like $h!t. I thought there was no room for a booster, but your setup looks like it's been moved over and up enough to clear. Here's a pic of what I'm dealing with, what do you think?
Here are links to what I used for my power brake set up from my previous post above. I'm sure you could use other booster/mb combos but I know this set up works. Bracket ($50) needs to be notched to fit as shown above. http://www.piratejack.net/index.php...age=flypage.tpl&product_id=257&category_id=22 Booster ($125) I used the 8" dual diaphram #ALL41006 to get max vacuum http://www.allstarperformance.com/product.htm?prod=371&part=ALL41006 M/C ($59) is #ALL41010 Corvette style which works for manual or pwr brakes, 1" bore, and has outlets on both sides. http://www.allstarperformance.com/product.htm?prod=372 This worked out pretty well and gave me enough room to clear the 351W and looks nice IMHO. I also like using a decent sized booster as opposed to some of the other options (Geo Metro) available. Let me know if anybody has questions or needs more info.
Russ, it may work with your LS-1. I think we need to take it offline and talk about it. I think our best bet is for me to take several measurements of my engine bay which you could try to match up with yours to give you the best chance of knowing if it might fit before starting the operation. I do know of another bracket that may work as well but the set up is a little pricey. Your thoughts? BTW, I love your car, it has long been one of my favorites. Regards, Joe
Go to ABS power brakes .com look at the falcon boosters . That the one I used had the mounting studs change to 2 3/8 -2 1/2 " long . This unit all fit with shock towers in place . You will need to change to non power brake pedal assemble.
I know this is an old thread, however would anyone be able to provide me with a guess of how much this conversion would cost? (Car already has an engine installed)
with a good kit...RC-107 from Rod N Custom...plus paying someone to do it...$5K a friend of mine (Harold) took his plasma cutter, torch and ziz wheel and cut mine out in less that an hour. I had the motor and trans out when I took it to him. once the crossmember is welded in just take the parts out of the boxes and bolt them on. call Rodger at Rod N Custom and he can give you an install price.
