I need to find a substitute for the original brake hoses. No one makes these for drum brakes for the front anymore. There has to be something close enough to use. Has anyone seen an application that works?

I believe it was '70 or '71 Stang that wheel cylinders are same and hoses are just slightly longer...

Another solution is swap to '71 Maverick wheel cylinders and use the matching brake hose...

Have you seen the new 2016 Melvins Classic Ford Maverick catalog?... They list a substitute hose for the 70 model.

I know that I'm looking at an old post, but I just looked through the Maverick section of Melvin's online catalog and no substitute hose is mentioned there, that I was able to find. I'd prefer the original lines because I recently replaced shoes, cylinders, and hardware all with original type parts. I'd use the Mustang ones if the only difference is greater length; anyone have a part number for me to cross reference?

They are in the Melvins catalog - part # H78073 for the LH and H78074 for the RH - $55 each - these are the Mustang ones. Read the description for what you need to do for the '70 Maverick

If you have the old hoses and a good hydraulic hose shop in your area - they can rebuild yours for you.

you may want to look at this option, I know it is not original OEM that you are looking for but...........

also, these are for Disc brakes, but check out his other listings and you will find ones for drum brakes, far better than original, DOT approved etc..... I have their hoses and Nick can custom fabricate to suit your application.

apparently, they had a fire in their shop and will not be up and running until the new year........

Thank you! I just punched those numbers into the Melvins catalog and they came right up. Hadn't found them looking through the online catalog.

Thank you, that would be a good option to look into but hopefully I can order the oem type through Melvins now.
