If it makes that much difference, maybe something I might consider. You just replaced the stock unit w/ the Addco, no rear bar install?
I installed the earlier mustang bar (65-66 i believe) and also moved it forward slightly, but as said the end links are not vertical. I haven't noticed any ill effects from this, however I don't have a very good comparison. I can say handling and stability were GREATLY improved.
One car has both , other car just has the front, the one with just the front is just as good as the one with both , in my opinion . I’m building a comet right know and I’m just doing the front
Hi Everett: Yes, as 73curtis mentioned, it does make a difference, car more stable and reduced "lean" when going around corners especially if one has to do a quick maneuver around a pot hole..........I think you will really notice the difference since you have already installed those roller perches. If you do decide to go for a thicker front sway bar, make sure you install poly end link bushings, Addco has these and may include them with the bar. As for rear sway bar, that also helps, only thing I do not like, is how it mounts to the rear frame rail, unless you beef up the bottom of the rail, good chance that it could rip out. Several members who have used the Addco rear bar have written articles about reinforcing the rear rail area. Quickor used to manufacture a rear sway bar which mounted on the inner side of the frame rail, it was a much better, stronger design than Addco's, had it on my 74 Comet for nearly 25 years w/o an issue, unfortunately it is no longer available, here was the last info for them: http://www.quickorgarage.com/about.htm This is what happened to Quickor: http://www.dimebank.com/monster/burst/00561.html Couple of pics of the Quickor rear sway bar and end link mounting on my 74 Comet. one of the Guys here had one of the rear bars rip out on his car. Harold reinforced the mounting point, reinstalled the bar and has no more problems. I have the larger front sway bar and love it. when I ran the cone course in Somerset,Ky. I was really impressed at how it cornered...
