I managed to talk the Water Pump out without taking the radiator off, it was quite rusty and barely turning. I replaced it with a new one with fresh gasket and waterproof sealant, did the same for the Thermostat housing leaky gasket. And I used that opportunity to put new belts all around as they were quite worn too.
Hi guys! I have a follow up question, last night my car overheating, engine light came on, waited a bit, opened the radiator cap, was fill with fluid, started the car, fluid circulated right (showing both thermostat and water pump are doing their job) but quickly faomed up. I panicked thinking I had a blown head gasket but the oil is still clear, not chocolate milkshake color and so is the coolant. So my guess is refilling my cooling system after changing the water pump I captured air bubbles in the system? Would that be a correct or possible assessment? And if so how to I bleed the cooling system? Thank you!
Was the rad pucking from overflow? It may be you have a temp sending unit giving false reading. If you have not replaced it during the coolant system repairs, maybe something to consider. Also, a lot of old/class car owners go to after market gauges mounted somewhere in the vehicle. I have a set in my car and that is what I watch and rely on!
That's a thing I was confused about, it didn't! When my thermostat died and the car severely overheated I was literally spewing steam through the overflow, not yesterday though. So the coolant foaming is not a sign of air bubble or something wrong in the system for you? Where is the temp sending unit located? I will probably replace it and consider that other after market option.
I am not certain where the sending unit is on the inline engines as I have never worked on them. Someone here will surely get you the info on the unit. I would replace it as a matter for peace-of-mind; b4 doing anything else.

Hi I am seriously considering the after market Gauge option, just one thought, is there a "easy" spot to get the wiring through the firewall into the car by any chance?
I can't recall where I have my lines going through; I'd have to look later. Anywhere you bring lines through, make sure they are isolated from chaffing against metal. Do not use plastic tube usually part of mechanical oil pressure gauge package; get optional copper tubing.
