What engine??? NAPA has rebuilt 302 dist for $53...

Rebuilds from anywhere are probably sourced from Cardone...

There are good new ones(at least electronic) from Summit, Jegs etc...

Those guys just sent me an upper ball joint that had been installed! Waiting for the rest of the order to show before I complain just in case there are more issues.

If you are in need of a new distributor why not go ahead and update to electronic ignition?

You should start a new thread to get your question answered not tag on to a thread that is 6 months old. Good luck!!!

Almost any distributor cap fits loose. You can fix this by bending the spring clips to tighten it up. You can also take some duct tape and line the distributor body where the cap sits to tighten up the fit. I'm running a reman 85 Mustang distributor in my Comet's 331. I'm using the 80's cap adapter and large post type EFI cap. It didn't fit tight either, but a quick tweaking of the spring clips fixed that. If you want a better quality cap, buy one separately. You'll always get the lowest quality parts when they're sold as a package. And you say it didn't work ? Why ? What was the problem ? How did you install it ? How did you set the points ? And finally, you say you want to keep it original, seeing as you're working on a 45 year old vehicle, your choices are becoming extremely limited in certain parts, you gotta pay to play here.

The loose cap poster hasn't been seen since back in Feb. Apparently a drive by poster that stops in whenever they need something.

Current question is where to get electronic dist for a '72 200. Already recommended to post another thread.
