My Maverick fuel pipe was engineered for leaded gas. It’s frustrating trying to fill my gas tank without the fuel splashing out. Does anyone have a solution for this problem?
Swap filler neck with a late model neck. Comet and Maverick necks uses different bolt pattern. I have no splash-back problem with later filler neck on my '74
You can swap fillers as mentioned, but problem with splash back was there when car left factory. The leaded nozzles were only slightly larger than the unleaded.
This is what I do now!! Poor solution when you have a bad lower back. I guess I need to find a late model fuel pipe.
I have a 75 with the neck for unleaded and a 72 for regular. Neither one, as is, is ideal. However I found the 75 more problematic than the larger 72 neck.
