I am sure many of you followed the building of the MTY MAV by Sugarkukie. I was fortunate to be able to buy the car several years ago, but had to sell it when I was diagnosed with cancer. I sold the car at the Portland, Oregon Mecum Collector Car Auction for $26,500 and thought that was a pretty good price............... well take a look at what happened to MITY MAV. Somehow she ended up back East and was sold by Flemings Ultimate Garage (see link below). I called them and was told the car sold for just under $40,000 ........... wow ........ hard to believe !! https://www.flemingsultimategarage.com/vehicles?q[make_eq]=Ford&q[model_eq]=Maverick+Grabber
that color jumped out and bit someone I think in a different color the car may not do as well very beautiful car I remember seeing it when it was just finished I think that car will continue to grow in value as long as its taken care of and kept in pristine condition like it looks in the photos
I remember her saying that color was a custom mix to match her favorite nail polish. It was an expensive restoration.
Even though it was a very high end resto I actually think the paint color hurts the value. It is a color that many gearheads wouldn't want. As was said above it was painted to match a nail polish color.
True, but someone who'd buy a car to match nail polish, no doubt has more $$$$ than 99.999% of the average gearheads.
Well I guess the price in the mavericks are keeping going up ,That will keep the good spirit to take care of this cars...
I remember that car from years ago when Terri was first having the Art Morrison 4 link installed - I copied the set up on my own car and figured out a way that she could have the top links above the rear floor and still be able to use her back seat - it turned out that it worked out for her so I was able to do it to mine also - I actually like the color, kind of stabs your eyes out
That is a wonderful car....an I am sure it cost more than 40K just in parts. Someone liked the color and got a good deal.
thank you for the update on Mity Mav--- wishing I had held on to her-- but you make decisions and have to live with them-- got my kids through college so every little bit helps-- wish I could have sold it for what it sold for now--- live and learn. She was my project and I really enjoyed the build-- wish I could have enjoyed the car more. Again. thanks for the update .. hope you are well..
Thanks for remembering-- I know it wasn't going to be a hit with everyone--- but I built it for me, not for everyone
Thats probably true in the maverick world-- I should have chosen my audience a little better when I built it-- I was hanging out with mustang people who are a little more willing to get wild with their cars. I took a big hit when I sold it- so you can rest assured, I wont be matching any more cars to my nails. I got tired of being beat up on the forums-- very few people give a woman who likes bright colors a chance in the Maverick world. It was a solid build though and I was proud of it.
thanks for being a supporter when I built it. It was a tough crowd to please. hahaha.. I appreciate that you always said nice things.
I would have been proud to drive it and stand behind any build a person does a build that suits their taste. It's funny you point out that few people give a woman that likes bright colors a chance. I was on the Garage Journal today reading a thread about car shows, they actually touched on the acceptance subject there. A lot of replies cited the know it alls and bashers as a reason for not participating or even attending shows as a spectator. I used to think it was rude to just turn my back and walk until I came to grips with the fact that they were being rude first. Now I'm fine with it and just walk away! Same on the forums, block them and move on.
