I finally got my seats back from being reupholstered after 3 years. Now I'm putting the tracks back on the front bench seat and there not going on right. It seems the tracks need to a spacer from the seat frame to the tracks or I have the wrong tracks. This is a 75 Maverick 4 dr. Are all the bench tracks the same? If someone has tracks for a 75 can you send a picture of them.
Just a quite update. I think the problem is I'm missing spacers between the seat frame and the tracks. After, so many years I forgot on how to put it together. Anyone no on how much space there should be? I'll see if I can find them.
Here is the pic after I installed the tracks. I used a lot of washer to raise the tracks up for clearance for the lever to work.
I am with yellow75. Doesn’t look like a maverick seat. You should not need spacers with a stock seat between the rails and the seat frame.
This is the part number for the seat. There is a metal tag on the springs. I do know it came out of a Maverick may not be a 75. D7bb6263100aa 7 mgr 427 77 501000 7 lb
Someone with relatively short legs and long arms might stack washers in the front to put their shoulders a little further away from the steering wheel. If not Maverick, Fairmont? In 74, Mav seat belts came through the seat bottom to lineup with the bolt holes on the tunnel.
This is what the seat looks like. I had it for over 10 years in the garage. There was 2 Maverick 4 dr side by side in a wreaking yard. One had a standard bench seat and than this one which a bench seat with an arm rest. I'm not really sure if it came out of a 75 it could be a 76 or 77. I not think any thing earlier. The reason I had to raise the seat up 2 inches was for clearance of the seat and floor boards so the seat can be adjusted forward and backward. The tracks did come from a Maverick. And no I don't have short legs and long arms. really
Your seat is out of a 78 Granada. They had that type of a seat. Probably why the tracks don’t work. Now someone could get you a set of Maverick tracks and you would be golden. - Matt
I said that because I have short legs and long arms. I cant get comfortable until the seat it forward and the back is reclined a bit. the only way to do it in a non reclining bench seat is to jack up the front with spacers. I didnt mean anything else by it. But, I think you have a nice looking seat from the right side up view.
Seating position is a very personal thing. For me the key is to have adequate thigh support, or my right knee gets sore.
The Maverick also, had that type of seat. That did not come out of a Granada or I would not get them.
