I definitely second this, I would be so happy if somebody figured out how to make rear coilovers on a maverick work
I used a 67/68 mustang 4 link on my Comet , cutting it down to 3 link. It did cut the use of backseat but I didn’t care cause I also did a tub job. Had this talk with several companies of doing a link set up for Comet/Maverick but the back seat always came up .
I have driven a couple cars with three links and really liked them. They track well, even on rougher surfaces.
I myself had never driven a older vehicle with a link set till my own was done. A world of difference plus add in the adjustability with coil overs. Makes for much much better ride and Zero body roll with the added frame work
We’re you able to use the front leaf mount for the lower bars? Do you have any pictures of your upper link from under the car and inside the car?
I was able to use front leaf spring mount . And a very good thing I went to take a pic of it cause the bolt was backing out. I’ll put a pic of arm on chunk but you can’t really see it mounted on inside of car cause I have it enclosed in metal with a small opening for adjustments.
Going by the rust on that bolt, it has been backing off a while. Yikes! Lucky catch there. The crossmember between frame rails in front of the former leaf spring mount ... is that for the upper arm? Thanks for posting the pictures. Giving me ideas here. Now if I just win the lottery ...
Yeah you’re probably right about the bolt ! Over the last couple of years my lack of mobility has taken a hit due to my Ataxia which is similar to MS so my wrenching abilities are all but gone. The Comet is mostly used for Autocross but now is actually “technically “ street legal but it does sit for periods of time. It went to shop this week to get a couple of things done so I had him go over bottom side to tighten check everything! Getting ready to hit some weekends of Autocross starting in September with a partner so I can go and have help at track . Getting a young neighbor started in Autocross . I’ll post pics when she goes tracking in September ! A car girl !! Her husband isn’t into cars but she’s very excited learning the Comet and to autox.. It’s a win win for her n me . That was the arm you made reference to ...
Now I get what you were asking.... the crossbar to the right is some of the metal work for frame connector. I added that front n the back on each floor for strength . The round bar to left is driveshaft loop
Yes it would be !! If I had wanted backseats I’d have probably had it done differently. Don’t have a backseat in either of my Comets
