Radiator fan blade HELP

Hey everyone, I recently took out my fan assembly to remove my shroud and when I was putting it back together the 4 bolts (below) wouldn’t screw in. Is the fan spacer meant to have to bolts screwed into it? Mine is smooth inside so I must’ve stripped it. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks. -Luke

The fan spacer never had threads, bolts pass through it. Threads on bolts hold spacer & fan to the water pump.

I'll leave some meat on bone, you're going to get additional replies saying to ditch the flex fan.

 

Thanks for the reply, for whatever reason the bolts won’t screw into the water pump either. The entry holes aren’t deep enough to grab onto the bolt

 

The spacer must not be seated on the water pump snout try to install a bolt by itself without spacer or fan to see if it threads in

 

Thanks, I tried that but the holes are not very deep and won’t thread the bolt in even by itself, how deep should the bolts be?

 

This is how much thread fits in the hole before being stopped, it doesn’t thread in either

 

Doesn't thread in - my guess - stripped out threads!

 

The spacer has turned use a screw driver to line up the holes between pump pulley and spacer
