    To adj valves, remove valve cover, simple operation. I'll see if I can find the procedure in Ford shop manual.

    Should be half a billion youtube videos on valve adj....

    I'm so used to discussions on 69 and newer engines it never registered this was old enough for solid lifters.

    No it doesn't. Like I said, you will need to buy or borrow the valve removal tool.

    Valve removal tool?

    All we're talking about is adj rockers, on 6 cyl can be performed with a common boxed end wrench.

    This is Motors procedure is only one I'm able to scan(lower left corner). One in Ford shop manual is on inside of page so doesn't lay flat on scanner. Clearance is listed at .016 hot, .018 cold would be fine.

    If you are planning on keeping a old car around, the Ford shop, Motors or Chilton are worth their weight in gold.

    I was referring to replacing the lifters. That's what you need the tool for.
