How to disable column lock

    So now that I converted to floor shift what’s the procedure to disable the column lock? Just leave it in park or? I did search around and didn’t find much but wasn’t sure what to search to get good results.

    I shifted the lever out of reverse position ,tac welded it to the tube and then cut it off.
    before that I was driving it and the lever fell into the reverse position...:yikes:, yes it locked the wheel while driving.
    when I installed the rack and pinion I removed everything including the locking pin under the steering wheel.

    wouldn't it lock in the reverse position?

    Couple of different options. You can remove the locking pin on the column or you can go into the engine bay and secure the column tube so it will stay in position.
