Didn't miss it at all. Want to drive, then you pay the insurance to do it. Can't afford it? Get better grades.

Well I found a 72 Comet GT and going to pick her up tomorrow. Now I'm no expert on these so help me here sports fans. This is a manual steering, manual drum brakes, column shift 302/C-4/8". Has the hood scoop and "racing" mirror. Seats are gone or stored away from the car.
Wasn't the Comet GT floor shift, buckets or was there options available depending on dealership or owner order? At least this one has a clear title from the owner. The other one I tried to get, had way to many issues and walked away from it. To bad, it was a nice one.

Looks like a well weathered GT but only way I know to be sure is a Marti report. No doubt someone that knows more than I do will chime in.

It's in Wyo. Weather can be rough up there. I'll be doing a Marti on it ASAP. VIN is 2K31F so that matches what the pics show.

In the sales album for '71 there is a notation, console is not available with floor shift OPTION. I believe there has been some assumption that floor shift was std in Comet, not so.

Floor shift was approx $25 option...

Will be retitling it as soon as it's in Nevada. Next week sometime.

I also get a few goodies with it. Grabber hood, trunk lid with spoiler and Grabber fender extensions. Parts I don't need, but someone else will.

That spoiler would give it the finishing touch it should have had from the factory, if it were me I would install it on the car.

Are the Mav and Comet the same trunk lid? I've never had the 2 together at the sametime to compare.

I'd put the spoiler on it even though Comets never got it. Looks so much better with it...

Aside frome badging the only significant difference from the Maverick is the hood, grill and front bumper.

The spoiler is a subtle but cool addition to the Comet.
