What is it to left of the maverick badge on the dash ?

    I have a non AC-car . It has a slot where something goes left of the Maverick emblem on the passenger side. Wondering what that is? You can see it in this pic .

    '72 Maverick, 347 c.i., w/ dual quads, TKO 600 5-speed transmission, back halved w/ 4-link, '16 F150, 5.0 Coyotte, regular cab, shortbed, lowered 3/5 & 1-owner '79 Trans Am.
    If it's what I'm thinking it is a slot for a "Fasten Seat Belt" light. Here it is between the center A/C register opening and the just out-of-sight emblem on my car.

    Ok . I was wondering about that. Thanks. I also noticed in that pic I posted, like a shelf below the radio? Did everybody take those out back in the day? My car does not have one in it.

    Someone in your car's past has removed it. That was standard until somewhere in the mid-70's when Ford put in a glove box. If you want one ccheck with Craig Selvey at Craig@MaverickCorral.com here on the site as he dismantles Mavericks & Comets and sells the good parts.
