My first reaction "was wow that's old", then I realized the tools I got when I went to tech school are almost that old!

Had for over 40 years. and guess what? They still work like a charm. Newer is always better. Got a timing light with adjustable advance dial on it, had it for 35 years, still works prefect.

I have very few newer hand tools(at least that are less than 20 years). Some around here that were my dad's & grandfather's

These sockets were my grandfathers, Snake was his handle in shipyard, worked as Boilermaker. Number below was his employee number, retired in 1973. Logo on the Craftsman socket was in use in the early '40s, dunno when they switched to newer logos. The adjustable wrench is probably '60s.

I've given my daughter some of her great-grandfather's tools he used in shipyard. She now works as a Environmental Specialist in same yard, has some on display in her office. Uses large pliers & Vice Grips(with Snake stenciled on them) to open barrels when she's having a dock inspection.

Consider yourself lucky, anything electrical/electronic is lucky to last 35 years. Fact of life...

That said, I have a similar timing light that still works.
