Howdy everybody, I have been very busy lately and have not spent as much time working on my car as I would like. my latest project was installing my Fitech EFI system. I am almost done and just needed to find a place to mount the display. Some may truly like this and enjoy the concept behind it and others will hate it haha. I believe that whenever someone can add their own personal touch to their car that is what makes it truly special. I have used generative design software from school to create a mount for the screen which will go on the steering column. I have used mapping software to create a rough 3D model of the dash section. I am thinking of making a complete model of the inside of the interior and engine bay for future custom projects. This part will be 3D printed tomorrow in black PETG and should have it on sometime this weekend. Will shoot pics once its on to see if I like it or hate it myself. let me know what you guys think!
You are going to find that where you show it being mounted will interfere with the "rod" that goes from the ignition down to the ignition switch.....but maybe that is what the "notch" is for in your design?
That is correct, that notch is to allow for the rod to actuate. I have a feeling that this is going to be a make a prototype, test fit, make changes repeat kind of situation.
I would think it will look better than a tach bolted to the column with a hose clamp. Which is what I use. I'll be interested to see it for sure.
will this be mounted just for tuning or will it be there all the time. do you have a pic. of the display you are mounting? will it be hard wired?
Im thinking all the time for now. But its as easy as removing 2 bolts and removing the entire assembly. As far as wiring its s single usb-c to the display which runs to the engine bay. as far as pics i have yet to print it but the display is the new style fitech display.
They must have changed them since I bought mine, mine has two round plugs that insert into the top of the display.
There has been an updated screen. I belive your talking about the screen that came with the go efi systems.
