If for some reason you can not get your intermittent wiper box to work I have more than one intermittent wiper box that I have tested but I don't have any good switches. I have seen switches on amazon and some jeep sites. Amazon motorcraft part # sw1572.

Thanks I'll keep that in mind! Is there a way to test the switch it's self?

Don't those boxes require a different wiper switch?

Yes it does, I have the correct switch. Just don't know how to go about testing it...

I've got the box and switch, trying to adapt it to a different (boat) wiper motor. Got a bunch of time invested in looking at/for diagrams and wiring schemes. I bought my setup off E-Bay and have no idea what it's from, but so far, no diagram exists with the exact same number of wires/colors. Still nowhere on it. Will prolly sell this and just use the boat system as-is...

I ordered one of these switches. Is the shaft long enough to reach ?

It depends on on the year and what vehicle the switch came out of. Some trucks the shaft will be a bit short but you can use an adjustable set set and it will work. Other switches such as from mustangs or pintos are the correct length to use the stock knobs.

I ordered a f150 one, and looks to be the same one Melvins sells.. Screenshot_2023-04-16-09-01-58.png

Well after moving washer wire, everything works. Just had to use another knob with set screw. Shaft is too short for original.

I found when I replaced the wiper and light switches in my '70 with a set from a '76 the shaft of the '76 wiper switch was longer than the one from '70. The metal bracket that goes behind the dash is thicker at the wiper switch on the '76 setup and takes up the extra shaft length. The F150 intermittent wiper switch I installed later had a shorter shaft and I had to go back to using the thinner '70 bracket. Leave it to Ford to make something so simple so difficult.
