    Okay guys and gals,

What are the little panels called that go underneath the front-end side signal and marker lights called? And, are they a plastic piece or fiberglass? My 1976 Mav is missing them on both sides, and I cannot search for them, since I can't remember what they are called. They are a part of the front fender on each side. I have poured over the forum and the internet, but cannot find their name! Help, please!!!

No. '74-'77 models did not have a valance. Just a lower front fender extension...

Why did Ford create these things? Wouldn't it have been better to finish off the fender with sheet metal? Was it due to accidents and repair costs?

It was an after-thought. They were being cheap. GM's & Chrysler's 5mph bumpers were far better looking on some of their models...

See I have to cut the fenders to make it in to a 72 style so I have those 2 extensions available
