I picked it for $200.00. I decided to make it my tow/mudder truck. I just ordered a stroker kit 4.0 inline 6 to 4.5L. A comp cams extreem 4x4 cam and kit(springs etc) $1500.00. I put some Mickey Thompson 31X10.50R15 Baja Claws on today at work. I Put all new Shock, Rebuilt the frt brakes, and replaced one Tie rod end. Pastthat standard stuff like new hoses belts when I finish the Engine. I ordered a Gibson Header and Cat Back.

I fully expect 260hp and 300 ft lbs of torque.
    Stock was 190hp 220ft lbs

Should be enough to tow My mav(s) and a good light weight Aluminum Trailer.

Just got tired of Borrowing trucks/trailers to get around:)

Interior is in good shape Body is great with one small dent. Need a Buff and wax

Hers a few pics form my carppy cell phone

I hear those stroker kits really wake up those 6's....should bump the torque up quite a bit too.

Well, I've got a decent tow rig and trailer, but with the snow we got last week, I decided I needed a 4X4.

So, I bought a Wagoneer too........But I went old school...

Really old school.......like class of '63!!

    :D

Wow that is so cool. I like the old Broncos. I couldn't pass this Jeep up though. For 200.00 bucks a great start for a nice tow/moderate offroad stuff. I like watching Rock crawlers but so far have shied away from building/owning one. My Older Brother is building a Tube Chassis Rock Crawler. It might see the light of day this year. I just love Nature and the country way of life. My older and younger brother are looking for a fair sized farm in the next 5 to 10 years. Something along the lines of 100 to 300 acres. I personally would love to just Farm and have a small shop to fix cars/tractors/machinery etc....My older Brother is an Electric/Interior Guru, My younger brother is starting to come along in the machining industry. He is learning CNC and can run most lathes. I am trying to get them to consider opening our own shop on the Farm when and if that becomes reality. Sorry toramble it;s been a very long day :D

Once again nice Wagoneer. What motor does that have/trans/gears/ etc?

I WAS going to get an '86 Cherokee 4x4 the other day...found it at a lawn mower shop more or less (actually at a house behind the shop). I called a friend to have her come drive my truck home and she saw it and bought it out from under me. $50. Drove it home but I'm told the starter has quit...and I already knew the carb was done. She got a new carb for it already; now I have to put it on and replace the starter. Not looking forward to it....BTW it's a 2.8 GM V6. 180-some thousand on the Odometer.

I'm kind of glad she bought it though...as I don't need any more vehicles right now and she needs it for backup transportation. Her Nissan has a little over 200,000 on the clock and is slowing falling apart.

It's got what I believe to be the original 327 V-8....I don't know much about Jeeps, even less about old Jeeps, so I'm not sure of the trans/gears, etc..it's an automatic, and the drivetrain looks to be all original.

According to the owner it ran and drove good when he parked it 2 years ago to start a restoration that never happened.....hopefully, with a cleaned tank, some fresh gas, new hoses, belts and maybe a carb kit, it'll run good enough for awhile 'til I can get into it more. I'd like to keep it as original as possible, with the exception of updating some stuff like the brakes.

I bought it sight-unseen (except for some pics)....It looks fairly solid and straight....I figured for $300, I couldn't go wrong....I'm going to pick it up as soon as the snow melts enough to go get it

The cool thing about these Wagoneers is that they didn't change much over the years...alot of the parts interchange from the early 60's right into the late 70's, even the 80's....there's a guy here in town that's got a pristine 67 Wagoneer body that he mounted on a low milage 79 model frame and drivetrain....he even updated the interior with the 79 stuff.
Then on Trucks, or one of those other shows, I saw where there's even a new trend of people intalling the old grill/headlights set-up from the early 60's like mine on their later model fullsize Wagoneers.

    That's cool....that's a dream worth rambling about.

Reminds me a bit of that scene from Days of Thunder, where Tom Cruise hangs out at Robert Duvall's "farm", and they had that stereotypical big old barn...... with a complete race car shop inside. LOL

Yea,my '77 Waggoneer has a '69 tailgate on it.I've had it since '97.I gave $600 for it and so far...
changed the rusty tailgate out for a not as rusty one with a back window.$100
    new fuel pump$13
    new master cyl$21
    new(ok,less than 100 miles)235/75 Commanche all terrains$200
    new dual exhaust$100
    It's rough as a night in jail,gets 8 mpg(on a good day)and hasn't been off the farm in probably 3-4 years.But man I'd be lost w/o it.
